The Goosey Moment
During the first test between the British & Irish Lions and South Africa in 1997 one of the most sublime sporting moments of the year took place. The Lions were trailing 16-15 with six minutes remaining and applying pressure on the world champions when Dawson made his move. The England scrum-half fooled the entire Springbok back row with an outrageous dummy leaving them at a standstill and coasting in at the corner. The Lions, with heroic performances from the Irish threesome of Keith Wood, Jeremy Davidson and Paul Wallace, went on to win that test 25-16 and sealed the series in the next test with another top drawer display.
